(6) Today

This piece was  a result of paying attention to lessons from my Dad’s death.  Each day I went to the hospital there was a large blue monitor behind his head recording his heartbeat, blood pressure and oxygen intake.  It could not be ignored.  I never realized how much that piece of equipment impacted me until I began this piece.

The concept of life being “daily” brought a new awareness of my own heartbeat.    I realized today, while I have health and while my heart beats, it is a day of divine grace and is an opportunity to trust God.  I should not take it for granted.  A day is sunrise to sunset and it can never be lived again. Therefore, encourage one another daily as long as it is called Today.

Today, if you  hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. . .
